Briana has been dedicated to education since the age of 20, beginning her career as a bus driver and teacher assistant in 2nd and 3rd grades. She quickly discovered her passion for leading a classroom and supporting student growth. With over 13 years of teaching experience across preschool, first, and second grades, she has spent the past six years at Shining Rock Classical Academy, where she continues to foster a love of learning in her students. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Gilliam enjoys spending time with her family and her four dogs and two cats, as well as hiking, reading, and crafting.
My mother told me that I decided to become a teacher when I was 5 years old. I would line up all of my stuffed animals and teach them the ABC's and how to write. My 4th-grade teacher told me that I would be a great teacher, I had the pleasure to work with her as a teacher assistant. These special influences stuck with me and here I am a teacher.
