Supporting Our Final High School Seniors

As Shining Rock Classical Academy moves forward as a K–8 school, a small group of students who had already reached their senior year was given the opportunity to complete their final year at SRCA.

The Shining Rock Classical Academy Senior Transition reflects our commitment to providing continuity for these students and families during an important milestone. Rather than requiring seniors to transfer for their final year of high school, eligible students were grandfathered into the 2026–27 school year so they could complete their senior experience at Shining Rock and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

A Thoughtful Transition to a K–8 Future

Shining Rock Classical Academy has completed its transition away from a traditional high school program and will operate as a K–8 public charter school going forward.

For our remaining seniors, however, this year represents a unique bridge between the school’s past and its future. These students have spent significant portions of their academic careers at Shining Rock, built relationships with teachers and classmates, and become part of the SRCA community.

Allowing them to remain through graduation provides greater stability during a year already filled with important academic, personal, and postsecondary decisions.

Staying Focused on Senior-Year Success

The final year of high school is about more than completing graduation requirements. It is a time for students to prepare for college, career, and life beyond the classroom.

Throughout the Senior Transition, Shining Rock Classical Academy remains focused on helping these students successfully complete their coursework, stay on track for graduation, and prepare for their individual postsecondary plans.

Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where seniors can finish what they started with confidence and move forward prepared for their next opportunity.

Honoring Their Shining Rock Experience

These seniors hold a unique place in the history of Shining Rock Classical Academy. As the final students completing the high school program, they represent an important chapter in the school’s story.

We are proud to support them through graduation and to recognize the relationships, experiences, accomplishments, and contributions they have made during their time at SRCA.

Their transition also gives our school community an opportunity to celebrate what has been accomplished while remaining firmly focused on Shining Rock’s future as a strong, sustainable K–8 school.

Looking Ahead

For future families, Shining Rock Classical Academy is now a K–8 school. Our educational focus, resources, and long-term planning are centered on providing a strong elementary and middle school experience for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

At the same time, we remain committed to ensuring that our grandfathered seniors receive the support they need to complete their final year successfully.

The Shining Rock Classical Academy Senior Transition is ultimately about honoring both commitments: helping our remaining seniors finish their journey with stability and purpose while building a strong foundation for the next chapter of SRCA.
